Alderman Roofing Lead Valleys
Alderman Roofing recommend that lead used for roof areas should be at least Code 5. All leadwork to these areas incorporates wooden rolls set out in accordance with LSA specifications and guidelines forming an aesthetically pleasing joint for flat or pitched roofs alike.
The wooden roll, which can clearly be seen in the picture to the right of a recent project, is made from 50mm softwood which is impregnated with preservatives containing fungicides, insecticides and water repellents.
Each wooden roll is tapered at the ends and firmly fixed to the substrate using galvanised or stainless steel 75mm fixings to resist storm damage such as wind-lift.
All lead roofs are fixed over the highest quality polyester fire resistant underlay conforming to BS479: Part 12: 1991.

The above picture shows a new lead roof in Code 6 lead which was part of a large detached private dwelling which Alderman Roofing roofed in hand made clay tiles.

The picture to the left shows a lead "eyebrow" which was part of a re-roofing project for a listed building used by a firm of Solicitors in Oxfordshire. Alderman Roofing worked in conjunction with the client, local building control and English Heritage to ensure that the works preserved the original look of the building and conformed to the necessary regulations.

Lead dormer roofs are also constructed and finished to the same high standards.
